Jensen Ackles is voicing the Red Hood for DVD.
Makes sense: he's got the Batman voice and he has experience playing a revenant!
Spoilers For
1. I love Ben Edlund.
2. I can't believe they showed the opening scene on television.
3. The diner scene was a close second.
4. Cupid was awesome
5. Misha Collins as Castiel is very funny
6. I keep expecting the Angel teleportation to get old, but it never does
7. Famine was very creepy
8. Demon Blood Sam's blood goatee made him less substanially less scary than it would have been
Why oh why did I watch that so soon after supper???!!!
But that was awesome. Loved their spin on famine; loved the fact that famine's effect on Dean was the opposite of that on everyone else; loved Sam's way of dealing with famine.
I still think Sam's powers aren't 100% in fresh demon blood: he was strong enough to whup two demons based on runaway id alone. So it must be some combination of fresh blood, the blood infection and conscious control there of.
Also: second Jimmy Cliff reference this week! I'm watching House now and he just paraphrased "The Harder they Come" at Cuddy.
Wow, that was the best episode in ages!
Hilarious, violent, creepy, depressing and arc-relevant! Haven't been this hyped about the show in a while....
"I still think Sam's powers aren't 100% in fresh demon blood: he was strong enough to whup two demons based on runaway id alone. So it must be some combination of fresh blood, the blood infection and conscious control there of."
Well, he has some power without blood, for sure - his ability to smell demons here, for instance. But I do think demon blood is a genuine power boost and not some sort of psychosomatic effect. Famine's comments definitely lean that way.
"Why oh why did I watch that so soon after supper???!!!"
Man, that scene made me genuinely queasy, which maybe a first. It wasn't so much what they showed bu the whole idea.
I like the idea of Sam ordering a power shake with a Demon Blood Boost.
My roommate was amazed that I could eat popcorn while watching this ep! Definitely one of their goriest ever.
Castiel has integrated and gelled with the show so much that, like Ed Helms on The Office, its weird to think he wasn't always there.
"We're looking for a big baby in a diaper."
"They're not incontinent"
"This is how they greet people."
"I don't like it!"
"Nobody does."
He really has. I've seen Misha Collins on other stuff, and he's fine, but he (and possibly, the directors) really know just how to use his face and timing. Cas and Bobby really add a lot to the show.
I'm a little shocked at how far they went with the neck-stabbing in the bathroom scene. So much blood!
Also, this attack by Sam, and him fighting the orderlies in the mental institution one reminded me how physically imposing Paladelecki can be. Despite being smaller than Sam, Dean always looks more dangerous.
I had to clost my eyes during the opening scene... and I don't get grossed out that easily.
That episode was crazy good. I can't believe we have to wait until the end of March for more. That totally sucks. It seems like we have only had like 3 or 4 episodes since the Christmas break.
We only had 4 :(
I hate these long breaks. Then again, this is one show where I will still DVR the re-runs and watch them.
More info: Kripke stepping down as showrunner, Sera Gamble to succeed him:

Blimey. Didn't see that coming.
Coupled with an extra year to do it in :)
More surprised about the Gamble thing - she's very, very good but I'm surprised Kripke's stepping down (although it sounds like he's still going to be hands-on).
Why does your book get delayed if there's a season six? There might also be a season seven, you know. Or eight. Or nine. Or successive numbers after nine.
I finally saw My Bloody Valentine (it's up at CW.com, as the CW Livestream is still locked) and man was that great. Really gross and disgusting, but great
Ha, I was momentarily confused because Ackles was in My Bloody Valentine the movie, and it was decidedly not great. But this episode was, so....carry on!
I think in that case it would just be delayed until after season seven, eight or nine. It aims to be a complete guide to the show, so it needs to contain every episode.
I'm surprised they don't just do updated editions, in that case. Maximise the market!
I actually liked MBV 3D- Ackles, Jamie King, and even Kerr Smith were very good (and I'm sure the film kicked off a fuckton of Jack from Dawson's/Dean slashfics). I think given how it ended, a sequel would have been better, but the film didn't do well enough.
It was very generic. The original has a decent reputation because it's actually a well-made, if low-budget, horror film with a unique look and feel. Horror usually doesn't benefit from slick Hollywood production values.
A prime example would be the very rough and lived in look to Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre versus the beautifully shot remake. And I liked the remake. Giving him a facial deformity and making him a big and strong retard also rendered it inferior.
As accomplished looking as the TCM remake was, the lo-fi tone of the original made the situation far creepier.
>>and making him a big and strong retard<<
Can we try not to bring the wrath of Palin down on the forum, please?
