This one seems buzzy. Curious to see how it plays out.

That's this Thursday? I'll have to remember to set the DVR.
Yes, this week.
I have, and it's okay. The show seems almost entirely divorced from the book - only the basic concept looks to be the same, and in the book the flash gives them a glimpse of 20 odd years in the future.
Yeah, it's only six months in the series, right?
If the book's just okay, I probably won't bother with it.
Yeah, I think in the series its 6 months.
I wonder where it leaves them for season 2.
Yeah, I usually like Sawyer's books, but this one didn't really capitalize on the central idea, and then it kind of strays off into too much quantum blah blah blah.
The Flashforward on the show is just six months - taking it to the actual date of the season finale, I think.
The Bad: David Goyer and Brannon Braga are involved.
The Good: Marc Guggenheim is.
The nifty: Jack Davenport, Sonya Walger, Dominic Monaghan, John Cho, Joseph Fiennes.

Me too. Wondering if it will be the new LOST or the new THE NINE.

Yeah, I really liked Threshold too. At some point I should rent the DVDs and see the unaired-in-the-US episodes...
i'm kinda hoping that instead of having to have another flash in a second season, or instead of dying early like the nine did, maybe it can get all its episodes filmed and make a nice dvd set, regardless of ratings
THRESHOLD really turned the corner in the last 3-4 episodes* was just getting really good. *sigh*
*Charles Dutton's inexplicable asynchronous acting tone aside
The Pilot is pretty good.
i have no idea how this is an open ended story.
Didn't see it, but I have seen Braga's OTHER Threshold and that was all the holding of the thresh I needed from him, thank you very much.
For anyone running into scheduling conflicts on Thursday at least for this week FlashForward is repeating at 8pm on Friday. It is also scheduled to repeat there on 10/2 for the second episode, but I think that scheduling could change rapidly if the repeat airing tanks the first week.
Thanks! I'm going to give Vampire Diaries one more try this week.
Don't do it! It's not worth it! Save yourself!!
If only you could have flash-forwarded, you could have avoided the worst TV advice misfire I've ever seen.
Are you saying she should watch Vampire Diaries, or that FlashForward is so bad its not worth scheduling to watch the repeat on friday?
Neither; your advice about the repeats of Flash Forward gave her the opening to watch The Vampire Diaries, which no one should be forced to endure.
Aaaaah, ok.
I cannot protect others from themselves. Although a "Tedblock" option on your cable would be awesome - imagine if you tried to turn on 2.5 Men and your TV popped up a message "Ted has determined that you will regret watching this. May we suggest Friday Night Lights instead?"
The Captain Sensible/VP of Common Sense approach to television programming!
Craftier marketers would've promoted Friday's airing as the premiere, with Thursday's airing being a flash forward. Spooky!
Mind if I pass that one on to Rob? I suspect he'll find the remark a hoot!
WHY?
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
Well, for me, it's Dobrev. I don't know what Chan's excuse is.
They could do that with LOST, too -- it's not a rerun, it's an extended flashback!
