TNT really knows how to pound the hell out of a program schedule.

It's the only way to burn through all the seasons of Law & Order they have bought.
I'll remember to set the DVR.
I don't know if it will annoy you like it does me, but TNT re edits the shows, for whatever reason. The content is the same, but the commercials breaks are changed to different spots in the show, which throws off the rhythm. I find it really distracting.
Because I watch while commuting and have to stop wherever I happen to be to switch trains I'm used to weird interruptions in a show's rhythms.
Yay! Note that the marathon in February is showing selected eps from the past four seasons, so I'd skip that if you want to stay with the continuity.
Yes, i was planning to do that but thanks for the heads-up.
Excellent. Now I can get into the show without splurging on the DVD sets or tying up my Netflix queue.
Just remember not to record the marathon: it's a grab-bag of eps from S2 to S4.
Not really; if anything TNT has finally started to (as I greatly feared when they secured the exclusive rights to the show a couple of years back) neglect the fuck out of it.
I mean, at first they refused to air ANY of the pre-Jamie Ross era episodes before daylight (seriously, the only time you can see the old school episodes is Saturday/Sunday morning, around 5AM) and most recently, they've dumped the show out of the prime time slot save for Tuesday nights (and that's only so that they can burn through last season's episodes) and now have them airing in the afternoon, with (as I mentioned above) the earliers episodes airing being those from the Jamie era.
As for Supernatural; it figures that the show enters syndication around the same time I score the first three seasons on DVD for X-Mas (thank you Wal-Mart, which had them for $15 a piece!).

Bump, though it might be a bit late for some. (Note: If this is your first time watching Supernatural, skip the marathon; it has spoilery eps from the next few seasons.)

My DVR is set, and I cleared a lot of space because I'm not sure if I can stay on top of 5 episodes a week with all my other TV watching.
Through Season 1 (except the finale!) and into the Second Season "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things."
I've really been missing out! This is fantastic television!
I just watched Racist Truck the other day but haven't gotten to the next episode yet.
I'm still in the "ok television" phase and am waiting for the fantastic to kick in.
You haven't watched it before either? I feel like I want to wait for you so we can watch together.
I think it's merely "quite good," but it definitely builds.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen S4, and my TiVo suggests TNT is going to start skipping a lot of episodes now. Well, I'll see it eventually.

I wouldn't wait for me. I have a lot piling up on my DVR so I only get to maybe 1-2 episodes a week.
Wait, what? They're skipping ahead on us? Not cool.
How far are they skipping ahead? Should I stop watching for fear of spoiling?
I just compared the TNT upcoming eps to Wikipedia. TNT is skipping most of the back end of Season 2 for some reason and jumping to the 4th ep of Season 3 starting next week.
That's just on Monday for the holiday. Tuesday at 10am they go right back to the season 2 episodes in sequence, with Tuesday's 10am episode being the next episode after friday's 10am episode. if we just delete all of Monday's recordings we'll be fine.
It's hard to tell with Supernatural. There's a defined arc, but they usually have a firm seperation between the stories that move the meta-plot along and the side episodes. The issue is, it's hard to tell from the descriptions as a lot of episodes that start out doing one thing will swerve at midpoint into something totally different.
True, but on the bright side TNT isn't screwing us.
Supernatural is probably the first show to really get the whole "Mytharc" thing that X-Files pioneered (and completely screwed up) right, where the longer arc never feels like it's screwing up the regular episodes, and versy vicey.
