"DEFINITELY EBAY IT."
(Sorry. Haven't read it, but couldn't resist.)
GL-Post Blackest Night news. Don't click if you want to avoid spoilers for BN, as there's a pretty big (if unsurprising) one there.
In spoiler-free summary, Tony Bedard takes over GLC with #48 while Tomasi moves onto a new, third GL title staring one particular character.
I get the feeling that, possibly, maybe, that Bedard's move to GLC might mean they're going to kill off R.E.B.E.L.S...
As much as I enjoy REBELS, the sales are so low I've been waiting for the cancelation annoucement for awhile. Here's hoping Dox gets a GL ring...
Myself as well. Bedard hasn't done well on the book. Issue 1 was "see how scheming and manipulative Dox is".
Every issue since has been "watch other people do stuff while Dox sits on the sidelines". They even dragged in Comet & Adam Strange, as if the cast wasn't big enough.
Kind of weird to see Kyle with his old mask.
Come to think of it, if he's out in space, why would Kyle even need to wear a mask?
1. Tradition.
2. To protect from glare
Funny, I would have thought that they would give John Stewart his own book if push came to shove. God knows that it would make more sense, given how it wouldn't upheave the GLC book. Also, DC could probably use Blackest Night's success to justify a third GL book to shoulder the load of dealing with the Blackest Night fall-out, while prepping the main GL book for Hal's movie debut as far as focusing on Hal's earth-bound adventures and him running the JLA.
"I would have thought that they would give John Stewart his own book if push came to shove"
Did McDuffie hack Baker's account?
Given my personal experience with DC, what could possibly make me think that a popular black superhero coming off of a long and successful TV run would get his own book?
You've become so cynical, Dwayne!
The joke was Jesse accusing you of pushing John Stewart in the past.
They're announcing TUSKY THE WALRUS #1 in San Diego.

Maybe DC will let Static be his sidekick. Then you could get comped.

SPAFF!
GAMES?
Shit, that's a 20 year old script. I remember the announcement in Previews (or some comics mag) back in the Pleistocene.
I'm always on for some classic Titans by Wolfman/Perez but that's going to read dated as all hell.
Have you read any of Wolfman's recent comics?
They haven't been very good.
Still, more Pérez is always a good thing.
If it's a 20-year-old script, what does the quality of his recent comics matter? You can't complain both ways!
You just said the script was 20 years old. I'm clinging to that to mean it's of the highest quality.
The idea is 20 years old, but it's possible he has adapted the script for newer audiences.
If he didn't, as long as it doesn't read too dated, I'm as excited as Tone.
The plot has not changed much in 20 years but it was never scripted. The dialog is all new.
"Hey Robin, lets go to the video arcade and play Nintendo Wii"
"Good idea, Cyborg. Then we can drop by the record shop for some MP3 downlads"
"Not me guys, I need to go find some important wiki pages down at the library"
"Downlads" sounds like a group of depressed superpowered British youth the Titans face off against while teaming up with the Doom Patrol in 1986.
Sarah Palin wants you to resign from your job for making fun of Downlads.
I just got caught exactly like this in Milestone Forever #2, written in 1997, where I assumed that in the future people would go to comic stores to buy CD's of their comics (all this just so I could do a joe that DC cut without asking me first. So I'm stupid twice).
