At the request of the lovely Jenblossom I am posting the following info.

To identify whether a vegetable or fruit is organic be sure to look at the sku #. If it begins with a 9 then it is organic. This can usually be found as a sticker directly on the fruit or printed on the lable.

For example, the asparagus at costco is organic but the grocers there do not know this (at least here in Albuquerque they don't) but you can tell because the sku # on the lable is something like sku #93456 whereas nonorganic veggies would simply read sku #3456.

organic: 9
non-organic: no 9

It's that easy.

why do i feel like a cheesy public service announcement?

What type of cheese though?

Actually, that's really helpful. Thanks!

BTW, I am still amused about the time I found advertising stickers on my bananas. I think it was for Nilla wafers or something. Is nothing safe?
