Bit of a big deal from a WWE investor's conference today, in that Vince McMahon announced the end of the Survivor Series, the second oldest WWE PPV (after WrestleMania, of course).  In its place, they're tossing around several pay-per-view concepts:  Everything from a street fight PPV or the WWE Draft to the return of some WCW-style events like Battle Bowl, a "spin the wheel" gimmick (only if Hornswaggle teams up with Cheatum the Evil Midget, though), and War Games.

wow, i used to really like this and it worked in the 80s when you didn;t get to see your favorite folks teamed up.  Now you see it all the time.

I vote they bring back the Lethal Lottery my old favorite WCW gimmick ppv

A bunch of PPVs have had their names changed.

Mney in the Bank as its own PPV is kind of interesting, since it's a get-a-bunch-of-midcarders-on-the-Wrestlemania-card gimmick.

Shelton Benjamin's gotta be pissed he's missing out on his Mania payoff. Maybe this means we'll get some other sort of high risk gimmick match at Mania?

Are WWE cutting back to 12 PPV's a year? Or have they already?

There were 14 last year, but last I heard, the plan is to do 13 this year.

I thought that looked light.  I've always felt it was a little much to have those couple of PPVs that were only 3 weeks apart right after Mania.  There never seemed enopugh time to build storylines with the PPVs jammed in that close together.
