All

Welcome to Round Three of the longest running topic on my various boards and mailing lists.

The previous incarnation of this thread was getting boring, mostly because I've been dogging it, so let's try this again, and this time I'll endeavor to be entertaining.

Ask me anything, and if I'm not legally bound to do otherwise, I'll do my best to give you an answer (and on the theoretical occasion when I don't know something, we'll turn the collective brainpower of this forum to sussing out the answer). So, Justice League of America, Fantastic Four, "Is Dwayne a racist?", Damage Control, Static Shock, JLU, Milestone, Comics, TV, Movies, Physics, Politics, advice to the lovelorn, whatever you got.

As usual, I'll only lie if there's a chance it'll make me look better, or make my many enemies look worse.

I'm working out the details on some of these, but I know I'll be at Comicon (July 24-27, San Diego, CA) and I-CON (April 4-6, Ronkonkoma, NY). I'll also probably be at Heroescon (June 20-22, Charlotte NC).

I'm still trying to decide if my workload will allow me to attend Wondercon in San Francisco.

That's all I know, so far, but I'm going to create a topic for my convention schedule and keep it updated at the top of the "Dwayne'sWorld" Folder.

Why don't you get DC Editorial to put the Countdown logo on your JLA run, what with the fact that your run so far has been nothing but Countdown tie-ins of the Salvation Run/Green Arrow Wedding variety? Or are DC afraid outright linking your book's editorially mandated connection to Countdown and it's spin-off Salvation Run might frighten readers who have already abandoned Countdown already?

Tthat's not a bad idea, other than the fact that JLA outsells Countdown.

Guest appearance by "America's most-beloved comic-book writer and columnist." Never fails. Except when it does.

My previous comics acting credits include Funky Winkerbean, Nancy, and Crankshaft. As well as hosting a Marvel horror comic or two.

Besides, chicks dig short pudgy writers in their 50s.

I'll be taking my meds now.

It's hard to think of stories that haven't been traded, but I'll give it a shot...

THE PANTHER'S RAGE
This is the comic book series that made me a hard core fan. I think it's criminal that it's uncollected. I want a big color hardcover, since I'm fantasizing.

MAZING MAN
Charming, witty and fun. And no one seems to know about it.

JIM STARLIN'S WARLOCK
Although I'm afraid it can't possibly be as good sa I remember.

SUGAR AND SPIKE
Kid's comics in the best sense of the term.

MILESTONE TRADES
Yeah, it's a cheat, but it's wrong that such an important part of comic book history has gone uncollected in a marketplace where you can find practically everything ever published.

'Mazing Man was one of those thoroughly adorable comics that should have gone on forever, but suffered coming around at exactly the wrong time.

Would you have any interest in writing a straight up, for kids type comic book and if so, would it be superheroes?

Would it be feasible for them to be collected by a publisher that wasn't DC Comics or is the arrangement between Milestone and DC too tight to allow for even that possibility?

I'll buy that and raise you:

AQUAMAN: SEA KING IN EXILE (Adventure Comics #441-450)
For my money the definitive Aquaman saga. This epic by Paul Levitz and the legendary Jim Aparo PROVED that when crafted with care Aquaman can rank with the best of them.
Plus it has that damn cool Aparo art. How can you go wrong?

GREEN LANTERN: JOHN STEWART (GL #188-200)
Writer Steve Englehart worked his magic once again and did to John what he had done for The Falcon ten years earlier...made him seriously cool.
Much of what Mr. Englehart and artist Joe Staton had accomplished was used in JUSTICE LEAGUE. Easy to see why.
