Cover art for the game accidentally popped up on Origin in the last few days, and Crytek's saying some kind of reveal is coming on April 16th.

Other than the cover image itself, which shows a nanosuit wearer aiming a bow, there's some other info from a Russian site claiming the game will take place in an even more ruined New York that has become "almost a jungle".

I wonder who is writing it this time out.

If anyone sees it; I recommend reading the Peter Watts tie-in novel of the game, which shows how you can take a plot and write completely different things. The hard sci-fi anti-military angle of Watts' tie-in becomes absolutely hilarious after awhile, especially as Watts is a neuroscientist and just LOADS this game tie-in with extremely hard science and theories on how the aliens and suit works.

And it's official.  New York's been covered with a Nanodome by the Cell Corporation, and Prophet needs to go through the Seven Wonders (the seven distinct environments under the dome) to stop Cell from plotplotplot...

The game's scheduled for release in 2013, and of course there's already info about pre-order and retailer bonuses.

And here's the first gameplay trailer.  The bow has me a little intrigued, but I find the idea of fighting the Ceph about as unexciting now as I did way back in the first Crysis.

Here's an "interactive" video showing two different ways to play through the mission they showed back at E3.

More importantly, though:  Psycho!

According to Totalbiscuit's descriptions in his Twitter feed, CRYSIS 3 has picked up where the first game left off in regards to abusing PC hardware.

Hah, yeah I saw that. The medium quality looks rather nice though.

That's medium?!  I really hope it's not slowly assassinating Xboxes.  Crysis 2 was so, SO pretty on the Xbox, probably the prettiest FPS the console has seen.

Okay, Kev, you asked: it very much follows in CRYSIS 2's footsteps in terms of gameplay and visual design. I've played about an hour and a half, and so far it's been very scripted and linear... but I do seem to have just reached a very open area, so we'll see. I think if you liked the last game, you'll really enjoy this one. Especially if you don't mind the very Call of Duty vibe I've gotten from it so far.
